Image and Processing Innovation in The Pentax K5 DSLR
If you are looking for a quality digital SLR such as the Pentax K5, then be prepared for information overload. The same set of functions and capabilities do seem to be offered by most cameras. Obviously you can have excellent quality photos and more reliable cameras, etc, and that is the difference. Camera makers are basically working with the same materials and levels of technology, but then we start getting into areas such as innovation.
So the camera you shop for just needs to take care of your needs for it and do it as well as you want it to be. Regardless of why you want a digital camera, just avoid breaking your bank and get something you will enjoy using.
There are increasingly greater demands being placed on cameras and actually all technological devices, it seems. We do feel that Pentax has stepped-up to the challenge on this point. Purposeful design that gives the user greater functionality in a wide variety of shooting situations has been built into the K5. Photos can be taken at almost a moments notice with the auto-focus design in the K5 which was not present in other models. We know you have experienced the frustration with decreased lighting photos, but we think this camera will exceed the performance of similar class digital SLR’s. The feedback from testing and user experiences have been positive.
There are certainly special situations that can place high demands on the abilities of a camera. There is a particular feature called Live View that utilizes the greater ability to process imaging and auto-focus. Hardware changes such as a newly designed image sensor with the software for supporting higher rates is part of the K5. Just one of the goals was higher performing auto-focus. After all the technical jargon, we know people just want to be able to take great photos. You will enjoy being able to take the kinds of images you want with no loss in quality.
Image stabilization is always an important consideration with a good digital camera. The K5 uses Pentax’s Shake Reduction mode to offset unsteadiness while you take your shots. So no more worries about being perfectly still, although any compensation has its limits. The button for taking multiple exposures has been on earlier Pentax models, but you will not see it on this one. In order to do that, you will need to do custom settings adjustments.
You will find solid advances in technology and use of software programming with the Pentax K5. You will find that setting up any custom programming is fast and easy to do. If you are looking for your first digital SLR, then do not feel intimidated by all the K5 can do. The K5 is complex but easy to use, and that is really the best part about it. It would be a shame to have a camera like this and not use all the features and functions available.
